Two Week Look Ahead - College of Charleston Libraries

The second semi with shelving arrives on Thursday morning, around 7 am.   We are expecting a total of 15 semi trucks  full of shelving.   Over the next two weeks, the shelving installers will be laying 2300 lin ft. of rail for the mobile carriages.  So there will be more drilling – probably thru the first week of June.  Immediately thereafter, another contractor will pour the concrete between the rails.  It will take a couple of weeks for the concrete to dry and then the flooring goes down and the shelving starts going up.

The woodworkers have begun work in special collections – everything starts with demo, and will be building more shelving  and exhibit cases.

The electricians will be working in the library on memorial day. Otherwise the contractors are working their normal schedules.

And the beat goes on….
