Choice, a prestigious online review of library related materials, has given a very positive review of our own Lowcountry Digital Library which documents the history and culture of the region.  The LCDL is produced and maintained by a team of experts largely drawn from the  Special Collections Department of the Addlestone Library who digitize and make accessible unique local resources.

Choice Review excerpt:

Overall this easily navigated digital library presents a simple, clean appearance. It allows keyword and advanced searching, and also browsing by institution, media type, New Collections, and All Collections. Links take visitors to the archives of contributing institutions such as the Beaufort County Library, College of Charleston, Historic Charleston Foundation, and South Carolina Digital Library. Created and maintained for historians, scholars, researchers, students, and anyone interested in primary sources or South Carolina history, this site places special emphasis on introducing young people to Lowcountry history and culture.
