Fall 2012 Addlestone Authors’ Series Plans Finalized - College of Charleston Libraries

July 3, 2012
Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Library are proud to announce the Fall 2012 Addlestone Authors’ Series. We will launch the series with a lively discussion from historian Alexander Moore, author of the Fabric of Liberty, on September 19 at 6pm in Alumni Hall. The book deals with the history of The Society of the Cincinnati of the State of South Carolina, one of the oldest fraternal organizations in SC. Throughout the rest of the series we will feature various discussions from local and national authors exploring topics such as art, history, and politics.

The series’ signature event will take place just before the presidential election on October 30 at 6pm on Rivers Green behind the Addlestone Library with a lecture by Pulitzer Prize-winning author and journalist Jon Meacham. His keynote address discusses the bias of today’s media grounded in historical analysis and his own life’s work with print and television news media outlets. Meacham is the former editor of Newsweek, a contributor to Time Magazine, presidential biographer, and featured correspondent on Morning Joe. This is a special event and will be ticketed. Please call 843-953-6526 for more information.
