Title: The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie

This book has it all: anti-family, cultural insensitivity, drugs/alcohol/smoking, gambling, offensive language, sex education, sexually explicit (masturbation), violence, and depictions of bullying. (Everything parents JUST LOVE their kids to read.)

A young boy of color experiencing culture shock as he is enrolled in an all-white high school? You bet that’s going to be a difficult situation for ANYONE to adjust to (and that’s without the impending monster of peer-pressure and puberty in the mix).

This title has a long list of perceived offenses (which just makes it more appealing to read, yes?)
