Transition to OAKS - College of Charleston Libraries

August 21, 2010
What's New

As many of you know, the current College’s learning management system is WebCT. This is where you access your course content online. Starting with the Fall 2010 semester, WebCT will receive updated student information only once a day. Please be advised that once you register for, add and drop classes it will take 24 hours for these changes to show in WebCT.

In the fall, a small amount of faculty & students taking those classes will transition to the new learning management system called OAKS. This will not affect most of you. However, some students will be required to use OAKS as well as WebCT depending on which learning management system your faculty is using for their courses.

Students will log in to WebCT or OAKS using the MyCharleston portal. When you log in, you will see the OAKS icon and the WebCT icon in the top right corner. Students will have access to both, however that does not mean that you will use both. Your professor will tell you which learning management system they plan to use for their courses, if any.

Addlestone Library is open to the College of Charleston community and affiliates via card access. Visitors may access Addlestone Library Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, and must present a government issued ID and sign in upon entry.
